Certified Exercise Physiologist
When an intended mobile joint becomes stiff, the joint around it will become hypermobile and thus, lead to compensation and pain/injury. As such, Maggie looks at the body from a holistic perspective and looks to address the individual’s mobility or stability issues. By identifying the faulty movement patterns and imbalances within the body, specific mobility or stability exercises can be assigned to correct your individual movement patterns to improve function and performance while reducing pain.
Maggie Phillips-Scarlett is a certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP). She performs assessments, prescribes conditioning exercise, as well as exercise supervision, counseling and healthy lifestyle education in apparently healthy individuals and/or populations with medical conditions, functional limitations or disabilities associated with musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, metabolic, neuromuscular, and aging conditions.
Maggie believes strongly that physical therapy is not a passive process and seeks to involve the client in realistic goal setting and exercise programs to address their individual needs. Maggie uses photos and videos to assist the client with remembering their home exercise program.
